Welcome to Year 3/4
Hello and welcome to the Lower Key Stage 2, Year 3/4 class page. In Year 3/4, we have three classes: Angelou, Morpurgo and Earhart.
Angelou's class teacher is Mrs Morrell.
Morpurgo's class teacher is Mr Hjelvik.
Earhart's class teacher is Mr Andrea.
Other members of staff are: Mrs Beale and Mrs Hudson, who are our teaching assistants and support children across the key stage. Miss Douglas teaches Morpurgo class on Thursday mornings and Earhart class on Tuesday mornings. Mrs Henry teaches Angelou class on Thursday mornings.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, on their PE days, children should come to school wearing their outdoor PE kits. Please ensure that your child's earrings are removed for their PE days.
Angelou's PE day is Wednesday.
Morpurgo's PE day is Tuesday.
Earhart's PE day is Thursday.
Please make sure that your child has their reading book and diary in school every day. Books will be checked and changed every week according to whether your child has read at home. At Nethersole, we love reading and we want to see that your child is reading at home too! We expect children to read at home at least three times a week.
Our theme this half term is geography based. As geographers, we will be considering the Big Question 'How does farming influence the food we see on our plates?'
If your child has to self-isolate, work will be published weekly on the school's home learning website and on ClassDojo. This should only be completed by children who are self-isolating.
The link to the home learning website is below.
Every week, we will be updating our ClassDojo pages with the homework for the week. Homework this half-term will focus on English and Maths tasks. Homework tasks may be set on EducationCity or may be worksheets for the children to complete - we will tell you each week what we have set and where you can access this. We are able to provide print outs of homework on request- please send us a message on ClassDojo if you require this for your child.
Spellings are given out to children on Tuesdays and spellings tests are on Tuesdays. Your child should have bought home a spelling book, this is so that they can practice their spellings. You must make sure that the children bring this into school on Tuesday's so that they can take their next spelling list home.
