The Nethersole Church of England Academy is a one and a half form entry Primary school set on the north-eastern fringe of the village of Polesworth near Tamworth, in Warwickshire. The school is situated on the borders of Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
The original ‘Nethersole’ school opened in 1638 and since this date there has always been a school closely associated with Polesworth Abbey, serving the vibrant and growing community of Polesworth.
In April 2013, the school became an Academy. At present there are 11 classes, supported by 16 teachers and 10 Teaching Assistants. Other support staff include 10 Lunchtime supervisors, 3 canteen staff, a building site supervisor and 2 office administrators. A strong and supportive Governing Body works hard to support the senior team with the strategic development of the school.
Peripatetic music tuition is available for pupils from Year two onwards and we have a vibrant school choir who participate in events across the local area.
As a church school, we have a strong Christian ethos, which is focused on developing the whole child-mind, body and spirit. The children are at the centre of our curriculum. Their skills, knowledge and understanding are the inspiration for our teaching.
