Year 3-4 football tournament - The Polesworth High School

On Tuesday 9th of December, The Nethersole Academy sent 8 students (5 year 3's and 3 year 4's) to the Polseworth High School to take part in a 5 a side tournament.

The first game was against The Warton Nethersole Primary School, it was a toughly contested game but with some excellent passing play and a few lucky rebounds off the walls we ran out victorious. Vinnie demonstrated superior finishing as he scored all of our goals in a 3-0 victory.

Next up was Newton Regis, The Nethersole put out a new look side, in order for us to stretch our teams abilities and at the half way point we were 1-0 up. At half time Jimi and Vinnie game on and really took the game away from our opponents, running out with an incredible 8-0 victory. The goals game from all angles so quickly that it was impossible to keep a record.

Our last game turned out to be a final as our opponents had also not lost a game. We lost Vinnie very early on to a nasty collision as a result of a very physical tackle. Our opponents were extremely physical, however this did not put off Fletcher who took it in his stride and buried a finish from the edge of the D. At this point it was 1-1 and we then went down another due to an excellent finish. At 2-1 we looked down and out but managed to pull it back to 2-2. With our players dead on their feet, it came as no real shock that we eventually lost 3-2 to a superior team.

All those that represented Nethersole can be proud of their achievement!
